    State Farm Mavic Insurance

I got a go from Ray in the Bay Ridge Brooklyn State Farm office. It's a personal articles policy. $60.oo for $1000 of insurance. I have to provide him with receipt. He took pix of the serial # and item itself. He specified it's for under 55lbs and not commercial. He made clear to say it's...

    Night shooting with long exposure.

On the phone display there's an icon at the lower right on the screen like a few lines and circles. When you touch on that you get the camera screen, there you can raise and lower the exposure compensation, make the picture lighter or darker. Within this screen at the top there's the AF / MF...

When does the nervousness wear off

Nothing like that leap of faith when you send it out over a sea wall ! vsk

DJI GO4 is also for the Mavic, there's a dropdown box. vsk

    Night shooting with long exposure.

Very nice. Where is that? I particularly like manual focus to get ground lighting sharp. Auto focus kept giving me little blobs and couldn't handle pinpoints of light. You can get up to an 8 second exposure and try lower ISO. I love night stuff. vsk

Magic hooked to tv. Not good

I'm hoping when the time comes I'll be lucky. I have put the small SD card into a larger sized SD card adapter and into a slot in a Samsung TV. The TV wants to upoad it into some kind of memory space and play from there and not read directly from the chip. Maybe you have a micro USB to...

    Firmware upgrade questions

I noticed my controller battery went down a bunch with this update too. Restarted everything but haven't flown it since.

A Little Yard Work . . . Mavic Line Lifter

Visit from the tree trimmer would have cost what my eventual replacement Mavic will cost! Hahahaha Vsk Sent from my SM-G900V using MavicPilots mobile app

A Little Yard Work . . . Mavic Line Lifter

I was going to do that initially but the 40 pound fishing line was plenty strong, the whole tree was swaying. I'll pull up some rope if I need more strength. vsk

A Little Yard Work . . . Mavic Line Lifter

So there I was parking the car deep in the yard and I happened to look up and there's a 6 foot long section of a longer tree branch that's splitting in 2 and looks ready to come down. It just looks like it's going to snap at any time. I move the car. This thing is like 40 + feet up and will...

How far do most people fly?

My drone store guy and I were wondering when the FAA is going to have something like a video squad that will look at various pix and videos and start citing people. I have watched a video or two where an FAA rep just contacted someone and asked general knowledge questions. At my field in...

Oh my Gosh it's so fun to fly the mavic in sportmode!!!

Come on! You broke my bubble ova heeya ! Hahaha! OK, I'll have to compare numbers between the Samsung 5 and the controller itself. I gotta keep my reading glasses handy now! Just futzing around 60 fps gives about 40.9 mph. OOpsie !! vsk

Oh my Gosh it's so fun to fly the mavic in sportmode!!!

SPORT I fly almost exclusively in Sport mode. It always seems to be a little breezy. I check its functionality also, because I don't want to be caught off guard if there is unexpected wind. It's awesome in the dusk as the 2 red lights go streaking past on the beach. I regularly get mid 50...

Could anyone give a brief dummys guide to ND filters?

Thanks Peter B. I do try to get the red / orange susnset / sunrise illuminated objects when possible but I still like getting a nice red ball sunset too. I have been happy with exposure compensation and messing around with manual focus at night. But I see the more critical thing is shutter...
