Perhaps you could consider hand catching instead of trying to fly into a fairly narrow space. Is there a way to retract your cover to do this? I’ve found that even in calm water, a boat tends to move and bob. It takes a lot of skill to fly a a drone with sensors turned off to a target that might...
I get the same behavior with my M2P controller, but only occasionally. I have found that if I restart both drone and controller, the warning goes away . . . sometimes. I don’t think it’s improper pilot procedure but some kind of glitch. And I agree that the warning sound is very annoying.
To each his own, I guess. The tax was about $48 and while I agree that I may have the right to avoid taxes like this, I wasn’t exactly in a position of power. My logic, however flawed it might be, is that on average I paid about $22 each time I brought my drone to Mexico, which is worth it to...
Taxed!!
This is the 3 time I’ve brought a drone through Customs at SJD. The first time, the customs worker said, “Tax.” When I began to protest, she said, “Next time. “ last year was the next time and nobody even looked at the drone. This time the customs person saw the batteries and asked what...
Sorry for the delay in reporting back. In short, I had no trouble getting through Customs and with flying my drone while in the Baja in February. But I should say that I got the green light at Customs so no search of my baggage occurred. Also, I flew in pretty remote areas along the East Cape...
Thanks, PeteVee. It seems that I had come across the source you link but I guess I didn't read it closely enough. I will be leaving for three weeks for a few places on the East Cape of Baja in less than two weeks and will be taking my Mavic 2 with me. I will try to give an update to my entry...
I don't mean to ask a question that has already been answered but I think I've read most of what is posted here and elsewhere about the "new" 2018/2019 regulations about foreign citizens flying a drone in Mexico. And I'm still not sure what the truth is. So here are my questions:
1. Is is now...
The Mavic comes with an AC charger that has a cable to charge a battery and a short (somewhat hidden) cable to charge the controller. We’re on our own when is comes to charging batteries and a controller when we are off the grid. But DJI did provide the basic mechanism in the form of a cable and...
Well, I got an small black USB C to USB MicroB converter so I can use the provided cable (mine is black and flat) to plug into a battery bank or a USB receptacle/cigarette plug converter.
If we are talking about the Mavic 2 Pro controller, the USB port is the same port the short charging cable from the Mavic charging brick goes. It looks rectangular but it accepts the USB cable I mentioned, which isn’t quite rectangular. In fact I just topped off my controller using the cable I...
The charge portion the Mavic 2 controller takes a standard USB micro-B cable. So a battery bank, such as what you might use for recharging a phone, would no doubt work. Also, I received a dongle in my Fly More kit that allows me to use a Mavic 2 Pro battery to charge other devices such as phones...
