So how many batteries do you have for your Mav?

6, the Mavics are in the air for about 2hrs per day on average. 2 Mavics = 12 batteries. 2 Phantom 4, each with 8 batteries, plus a purpose built buoy survey drone, which has 8 but only a 10min life on each. Means inverters in the work vehicles for charging and a small Honda generator for remote...

    Camera filter PGY issues

Wish they had made them threaded like the Phantom, much easier to remove without putting strain on the gimbal.

Gimbal motor overload in the long term

It's so easy to forget the gimbal clamp even if you follow a mental checklist. Try attaching a long red tag to the clamp, rather like the "remove before flight" tags on a plane. Good luck and have fun.

An easier way to secure the gimbal?

That's a great idea, thanks for forwarding it on, I hadn't thought about using the cover.

An easier way to secure the gimbal?

Personally I still use the supplied clamp, but like you, feel that it could eventually do damage when being fitted. Will continue to try and figure out a less invasive clamp, but have my doubts unless I can make up a small airbag design. Any ideas will be very welcome.

    Mavic case

Get a life, surely life is about choices, so if you're dumb enough to accept and do what you're told, then so be it. Some of us thought use our imagination and adapt things to suit our lifestyle. Every invention can be improved on and the only way to advance is to try something different. You...

Is a class action a very real possibility?

Astonishing, I have been flying DJI products in the UK for four years and apart from a few firmware glitches they have built and supported superb drones. As for the Mavic, I ordered on Oct 2 and eventually received it on Dec 28. Frustrating, but then it was to be expected considering the...

What features would we want in a Mavic 2.0?

A separate channel so that a third party server could operate for instance a cargo release hook

    Mavic fishing success

You got any idea if the downriggers would work with a fly line and fly, it's a great idea. Problem is with flyfishing the only weight is in the line and it's got to be dropped really accurately. Any thoughts very much appreciated, like most fisherman am always looking for new ideas.

    Mavic fishing success

As soon as I get back down south I'll make a video of the gear and a landing and take off. Surprisingly there is virtually no spray, and any there is is spread flat on the water. Have never had any water droplets on the drone itself. It's not the prettiest thing in the world and reduces battery...

    Mavic fishing success

The hook mounts into the plastic and swivels forewords and backwards. The moment you hook a line on it tends to stick out the back at a four o'clock position and maintains this as long as you're flying forward with the weight of the line dragging behind, when in position at say 5m altitude and...

    Mavic case

I use both cases, this one for fishing and out at sea on the boat, everything is at hand and no digging deep and possible salt damage when something falls out. Then the original Mavic case if I'm flying, which easily fits in my hand luggage. Batteries go into sealed fire proof cases just to keep...

    Mavic case

I think it's wise to avoid folding the Mavic as much as possible, especially when just moving a bit to a new location,so bought this case on EBay, holds everything securely. Mavic supplied case is just too small. Sent from my iPad using MavicPilots

    Mavic fishing success

I made up a water landing set, bought the landing gear extension bits off Amazon. Two polystyrene round four inch balls and two four inch egg shaped from my local craft store, a 10" piece of carbon Fibre tube and that's it. The eggs go on the front leg extensions as there is less weight forward...
