The 48hrs will start from the time the drone has been turned on irrespective of whether it's been registered to your account or not. With the Air3S, it would not allow you to fly unless you activate the RC at least, the drone and RC are bound to each other from factory so the drone is activated...
I had. very poor range with the RC 2 and Mavic 4 on the first day I got it. Same weak signal, signal interference etc but after doing a FW refresh on Assistant 2 on the drone and RC, I now get over 6km with just 1 bar dropped.
But for that e-sim to work you will need to buy a contract with Dji and you can't outside of China. For the Dongle 2, you can only renew the contract in China and EU. Where did you find that transcript you posted above? I never seen that before.
It won't be range limited because both Canada and the US are FCC so range would be the same. The drone changes from CE to FCC based on homeport location and not where you purchase it from.
I have seen some posts about this happening, but the concern was just around warranty as you would need to take it back to Canada for the warranty to be valid with an address somewhere there.
Strange, my signal is much stronger with the RC Pro 2 as compared to the RC 2. Even when i tried it with an Air 3S, it worked amazingly. Only downfall of the RC Pro 2 in my eyes is the 4G block
Yes, RC 2 range is nothing when compared to the RC Pro 2 but in saying that, I got half the distance with RC 2 before disconnection which is just over 5km and for me that's strong enough - For Now
I did 2 flights today to test the range on a friends drone and it is so much better compared to the RC 2 range. Don't need a 4G connection using this RC Pro 2. It lost connection around +10km
I had the same issue with terrible range in CE when i first got my drone with RC 2 but after a FW reflash it worked great. First flight I only got to 1.2km before the signal died but after the flash it went past 5km and signal only dropped 1 bar. Try the FW refresh via Assistant 2 again but...
