I've just about had it with flying iphones and am really thinking of just parting out my Mini 2 SE to use the motors, gimbal and camera on a drone i actually own. I know this is nothing simple and everything is tightly integrated, but i wanted to know if it's locked down to the firmware level...

This is interesting, do you have more information on what you need to do in python to recode the gimbal? I'm a python programmer. Is it possible to control the gimbal directly without the DJI firmware?
