100 degrees that could be your problem. Try to stay in the shade and as mentioned before close all apps before the flight.

    Finding out Reason for DROTAM

What I know is that it is a warning to all aircraft of uas activity. The fact that it list surface to 92,000ft makes me thing this is likely military related or test flights of a uas

    STROBON Cree® LED Strobe Lights

I disagree I was flying on a bright sunny day and my Mavic decided to disconnect from the app about 700ft+ away.... but with these lights I was able to get it to fly back home as I could see what direction it was going. I use the red and green in the front with blue in the rear.

To license or not to license

Simply get the 107. Nice to have if you get a job offer and you will be a smarter pilot (in theory). That's what I did. I trained with remotepilot101.com.

Special Event / Sports filming.... Rules on getting "too close."

Per the faa part 107 you are not permitted to fly over large crowds of people. So yes this might get you in trouble. That said someone would need to complain directly to the FAA. I don't think anyone here is going to do that.

    Newbie needs expert advice

My advice is go through this course @ Remote Pilot 101 | which trains you to become a part 107 pilot. Even if you don't get your cert you learn to on how to be a better pilot and where you can fly. I highly recommend it.

    State Parks

    Finding sUAS Jobs?

I just got my Part 107 temp cert and I'm excited to get out in the market to earn a little cash, but how are you Commercial drone pilots posting/advertising your services? I've had zero luck with craigslist so far. And looking on all the job posting sites like indeed, glassdoor, etc have very...

    Flying Mavic in Wildfire Smoke

Technically the smoke could reduce the perform of the Mavic just like flying in high humidity. That said the risk is likely very low. I live outside Seattle so im stuck in this smoke as well, but since i have my Part 107 have to maintain line of sight which is very hard to do with this smoke...
