    Hello from the Netherlands

    Hoi Nick, veel plezier hier!!

Mavic Pro VS Mavic Pro PLATINUM

The props do contribute to both the MP ánd the MPP's noise generation but it's the motordrivers that make the difference.. The MP with the low noise props is still much louder and annoying than the MPP with low-noise props!

Mavic Pro VS Mavic Pro PLATINUM

The motor drivers in the MPP send sinuswaves out to the motors, the MP drivers send out block-shaped ( steep rising and falling ) signals which cause any coil to generate steep contra-currents as coils don't like to change their magnetic status, hence they "scream" more than the smooth driven...

Mavic Air Master Airscrew Stealth Props Second Generation V2

Nope, slower RPM with same lift-forces cause higher currents in motors hence less flight time ( in hover/static location ) . Did not perform in-flight comparison so cant tell dynamic behaviour.

    Aftermarket prop woes

Basicly yes, i just mounted a lightweight box on top of the mavic to stay close to it's original COG, and put in sets of 4 grams of wheights in order to gradually increase load as you can see in the Exel sheet. All the other initial base/dat is just combinations of Tares from MPP, the basket...

Weight vs RPM: Characterization and Comparison of MPP driven DJI 8331 propellers vs 3 others

@surfbird: Thank you Surfbird for your great feedback! Your work confirms my suspicion that the lower RPM are linked to higher torque hence higher currents and impulse resistance of the coils...hence higher losses at the end... Interesting data!! All of you Hovering work is not a mistake and...

Weight vs RPM: Characterization and Comparison of MPP driven DJI 8331 propellers vs 3 others

@TexasFlytography : Thanks! Your question: That would vary per application: a distinct difference between the 8331 and the MAS Stealth can be found in the delta in rpm and the more"flat" graph the MAS shows while processing heavier load. To my opinion this is due to the material and the...

Weight vs RPM: Characterization and Comparison of MPP driven DJI 8331 propellers vs 3 others

As promised quite a while ago. (assuming all datapoints are correct ) When taken a close look at the differences it clearly shows where the props would find their applications. The 3blade Carbon props give high-wind alarms for a reason: RPM's are low from front to back of their...

    Aftermarket prop woes

Actually i provided hard data that supports the MAS claims, see my thread on testing props.

    Props

For some enhanced insight in how various props perform just have a look at the tests i performed in order to characterize/fingerprint a small group of various props: it also includes testing a cheap china counterfit that clearly underperforms at a given point..

Weight vs RPM: Characterization and Comparison of MPP driven DJI 8331 propellers vs 3 others

@sar104 : I deliberately decoupled any basic units like Current and Voltages from the equation to keep things more general: some tend to tune or tweak the driver responses like min/max currents or the PID response of their bird's motor drivers hence making this fit for general interpretation...

Weight vs RPM: Characterization and Comparison of MPP driven DJI 8331 propellers vs 3 others

An interesting find is that the spread between Front motor RPM ( RPM_F ) and rear motor RPM ( RPM_B ) vary per propeller type and never show overlap. the most significant delta between Front and Back RPM is found on the cheap flexible chinese copy props, increasing almost exponentially at...
