What Kind of Drone Pilot Are You?

Definitely a #2 here. Used to take aerials with my Pentax 6x7 film camera from my Cessna 120. Sold the airplane, so the drone gives me that overhead view I have always enjoyed.

Average age of pilots on the forum

So nice to read these stories- thank you all for sharing! At 69, I sometimes feel 100 and like it's too hard to learn new things. I still fly my Mavic 1 because I know it. You all are an inspiration- maybe this spring I'll check out the Mavic 3!

    Manned Aircraft Pilot Poll

1989 700 0 since I don't fly anymore. I did have a bird strike once and it was a scary experience, so if I was still flying, I would think more like a 3.

For other jobs, I used a rented Hasselblad with a gyro hanging off it for stability. Once in awhile I'd do side work for a guy with a hole in the belly of his Cessna...

    Afraid of flying the drone?...

Thank you for posting the visual flight training video, and for all your responses. I'm still a nervous Nellie flying my Mavic Air (1) but I know I need to fly more and practice more!

Is anyone paying attention to TFR 1/1155 over DC?

I used to fly my little Cessna all around the Wash DC/Balto area and TFRs (temporary flight restrictions) are nothing new. Whenever a president or dignitary would be traveling, whenever AirForce One was out, whenever a foreign dignitary came to Camp David, etc. If you wanted to fly in that...

    Female droners

Thank you! It's rainy here in OR so my winter project is to learn more about my drone's video, how to edit and post on YouTube, etc. We have an Adobe subscription for Lightroom and Photoshop, which includes Premiere Rush, so I intend to start working with that.

    Female droners

Hi All, Female pilot here from beautiful green Oregon. I haven't posted much, initially because I was so ashamed that I had crashed my first drone, a Phantom 2+. But the more I read here, the more I realize that there are "those that have, and those that will"! After not flying for a few years...
