I like using Tripod mode for slowing down movement, but it seems it doesn't affect left and right turns and they still turn out jerky. Is there any way to make these turns more smooth?

I just purchased a Mavic Platinum Pro, I'll hopefully receive it next week. I've been practicing with a CX-10 and a Hubsan H107D. Can't wait to step up to something that can do high quality photography and video. Any pointers on where to start are welcome.
