will the FAA know if i fly over 400Ft?

Btw...its legal to fly above 400ft if you are flying around/over a tall building building or structure. If its 400 ft tall, you can fly 400 ft above that structure legally, so 800ft altitude would be legit. #knowingishalfthebattle

Thanks, been trying to determine optimal Litchi settings for the DB missions!

New firmware 1000 for Mavic Pro. Anyone tried it?

If you're shooting a high rise, tower, etc you might need to fly well over 400ft. And legally you can fly 400ft above that structure, so 500m is definitely a possibility

    Drones and airport security

Correct, it is not required to discharge the batteries. Lipo pouches are required by TSA though!

Anyone experience travelling with Mavic Pro (handluggage)

On the trail end of a 3 week European vacation (Ireland, Spain, Portugal) and Airpot Security never mentioned my MavicPro or the three fully charged batteries (forgot to discharge for the last flight across the pond) I did have them in lipo pouches, FWIW Algarve was freaking awesome!

    Don't Be This Guy

I totally understand airspace safety and need for those regulations, but it's almost impossible to fly in the LA area. Im currently sitting at Santa Monica beach watching a guy standing in the middle of he beach/directly behind a life guard tower, flying his Phantom low and all around people...

    Southern California - L.A. area 323/213/818

That's one of the reasons why I bought this sucker, along with all the other awesome reasons. I flew it for about 20 minutes at Samo beach and a fellow drone pilot warned me I could get a fine, so I packed up and left. But if you're 1.5 miles away, how will they ever find you to fine you? I...

    Any near Mammoth Lakes CA.

So I struck out at Owens Lake and Tinemaha Reservoir due to high winds, but I scored at Klondike Lake. The winds were still pretty high and I was amazed how well this littel bad boy maintained stability 100+ ft. DJI_0010 by Troncat posted Mar 22, 2017 at 7:07 PM Flock by Troncat posted Mar 22...
