    Mavic Carbon Props 8330F

Just fitted my mavic with carbon props today. They provide noticeably more lift for the same prop speed; I know this because I started the motors on a low friction tiled surface, and with carbon props the aircraft 'wanders' across the ground, slightly, indicating that the aircraft is putting...

    Losing GPS hold

It's nothing obvious like surrounding buildings.. I took off from the top of a fifty metre building, with ten satellites, and no higher buildings in the vicinity. I hovered a while at 50ft, and the satellite count increased to fifteen, then with a stable number of satellites, ascended another...

    Losing GPS hold

Two days ago, after taking off, I lost GPS at around 300ft, the drone went into ATTI mode, and started drifting with the wind. I tried replicating that today. At an indicated 317ft, I have 14/15 satellites, ascend another 20ft, and that number falls to 6/7. Has anyone else experienced this?

    GPS related crash?

Ok, you got me. As I said, poor flying. I'll learn from this.

    GPS related crash?

Thanks a lot... I don't remember pulling the left stick OK, I'll admit, it was poor flying, and shortly after taking off, I regretted it. I rarely use the RTH button, but was contemplating it, at the time of the crash. If I may interject here, as I recall, I regretted taking off, after...

    GPS related crash?

Hopefully, one of these files is the right one. They both refer to the crash. I'm wondering whether the records can distinguish between a stopped motor due to failure (intermittent, or not) and a motor that stopped because the prop hit something. Thanks, in advance for your assistance

    GPS related crash?

I don't pretend I'm Biggles. The software carries the heavy lifting. It was my 139th flight, all the others have been fine. The drone had a GPS lock, and uncommanded dropped from 67ft at a maximum vertical speed of 7.2mph. If I didn't ask it to do that, the question arises, why did it do that?

    GPS related crash?

Just the mobile GPS. I do have concern that a motor failed, or has a dodgy bearing, but there is less than 23 hours use... They all turn freely. It is something of a mystery. I went to the site of the mishap today, there is nothing to collide with.

    GPS related crash?

I would like to pick the brains of MP fliers here... For reasons unrelated to drone flying, I have got into the habit of turning off location services on my cellphone. On my first flight with it off, there was maybe a little less assuredness (I can't be any more specific than that) in flight...

    FCC mode in China

There are two issues here, range of the drone, and transmitter range. The mavic has far superior endurance, and it flies faster, so potentially, will go further. The issue is transmitter range. The hubsan advanced transmitter has a 12volt battery, and burns through the charge like there's no...

    FCC mode in China

The Hubsan H501s Advanced is an inferior drone to the Mavic Pro in most ways (no gimbal, 2mp camera, half the max altitude - 250m), but it does have an absolutely epic transmitter--12volt, and massive range. You'll run out of flight battery before even coming close to exceeding transmitter...

    FCC mode in China

Hmm, The Dji shop was just being lazy. If that's the law, they would have said. Instead, they claimed it was already in FCC mode. The thing is, rival manufacturers Hubsan, made in the same city (Shenzhen), and sold in the same market, are not geofenced, and have ridiculously powerful...

    FCC mode in China

Trying Martin Kuhn's method, clearly Mavics in the PRC are in CE mode. I don't know why DJI shop would misinform me like this. If they don't know, they should say. If they can't, or won't make the software changes I had asked for, likewise. All they have done is ensured I will never buy...

    FCC mode in China

Thanks, I'll give it a go, next time I fire up my mavic

    FCC mode in China

Are you sure? As I understand it, the only indication you have that you are in fcc mode in to compare rc range with an identical mavic in ce mode.
