Mavic 2 Pro is now RID compliant

You can tell if RID is working by using a cell phone with the "Drone Scanner" app. Launch your RID compliant drone and then open the Drone Scanner app on another cell phone located near by and you should be able to see the info your drone is transmitting.

Mavic 2 Pro is now RID compliant

I have just updated all three (app, controller and aircraft). Went smooth and everything operates as expected. Good job DJI !

Part 107—How intense is the test?

I passed my part 107 exam about 1 1/2 years ago and now face the 2 year Part 107 renewal test. Is it the same test or abbreviated? Same type of prep recommended??

(RECOVERED!!) Mavic Pro tangled up in tree branch above river

why not just cut the **** tree down so it falls bacck away from the river. Attach a rope with a cumalong whjen you cut the tree so you can guide how it falls.

    Stupid Question?

Thanks everyone for the reply. Good to know.

    Stupid Question?

A similar or related question: If I set my RTH altitude for 100 ' AGL at the takeoff place (home point) and I 'skillfully' fly up to the top of a 300' hill say 1 mile away, and then develop LOS (for what ever reason), what will the bird do as it initiates RTH??? Will it start RTH at the...

    Hovering question....... please dont laugh

Are you sure the Mavic w0uld even take off?? I'm thinking the algorithms for flight control would sense position movement based on the GPS info and not allow take off!

    Firmware v01.00.0200 released!

Precision landing is automatic when you use RTH. Flew 8 missions today and every landing was within 1-2 inches from the take off point. Good job DJI! Thanks!

    Litchi Mission Gone Bad

Not when your flying Litchi waypoint missions. When LOS occurs the Mavic will continue to fly the pre-programmed mission that was loaded into the aircraft. The altitude it flys at will be the altitude (AGL) that was set for each waypoint.

    Litchi Mission Gone Bad

In my case, yes, Litchi will try to fly the total mission even with LOS. And the collision avoidance sensors were working perfectly . Viewing the video recorded shows the MP2 stopped when it encountered the trees. It then slightly backed up and tried to go around the trees but in doing so the...

    Litchi Mission Gone Bad

Been there, done that. Totally pilot error. I flew a similar Litchi mission but forgot when doing the programming just how high the hill rose up at the far end of the mission. Fortunately the bird got stuck in the top of one of those trees and after a lot of work I was able to get it down...

Drone actions when approaching an obstruction?

I did check with Litchi and they said that if loss of signal the aircraft would continue to fly the preloaded mission. As far as obstacle avoidance they said the aircraft would try to go around the obstacle as apposed to over it. Interesting in some scenarios!

Drone actions when approaching an obstruction?

From experience (si) the latest version of Lichi the aircraft will try to avoid the obstacle by going around it and if that fails the aircraft will just stop. This is when using Litchi in the Waypoint mode. The aircraft wants to continue flying to the next programmed waypoint. But with a...

Drone actions when approaching an obstruction?

I should clarify my question. When flying a waypoint mission (such as with Litchi) and encountering an obstacle in front of the drone, will it always try to go around that obstacle as opposed to over the obstacle and on to the next waypoint?
