3 First Light on Mt. St. Helens from this Morning

Those of you who still have limbs articulating, you have GOT to hike up that slope and sit on the crater edge (not too close now) and have lunch. It is one breathtaking view... of the surrounding area as well as several peaks, on a clear day. Great photo, OP!

    Should we be concerned?????

I am not taking a position on this where speculation is rampant but did note this in the NYPost a couple of weeks back https://nypost.com/2023/05/22/ukraine-losing-10000-drones-per-month-to-russia/

There are USB data cables .... and there are charging cables. The latter simply exists to charge phones etc whereas data cables need to meet compliance with respect to data exchange protocols.

    Unstable Hover Over Pitched Roofs

The instability can occur from both mechanical turbulence as well as proximity sensors. So as pilot in command you would scope out the conditions of your flight and make flight decisions based on all the data you've gathered prior to your flight.

Accidently Pointed my high intesity Spot Lights at A Sheriff's vehicle while night flying. I flew straight home after that. Oops.

Have you folks heard of LEP (laser ehnahnced phospher) lights yet? They're really starting to explode on the market the past year. I've experimented with a couple but not convinced of their overall practicality. The advantage is their extremely long throw though the beam is extremely tight...

WHY do people call it 'MISSIONS'???

I am transformed, having been approved by the gov't. Prior to each sorte, I put on my "FAA Approved" vest, RayBan gold rim glasses, check the NOTAMS, log onto Aloft, preflight the equipment and play Danger Zone to get into the right frame of mind.

Danger Using Batteries in 'Self Discharge State'

I could do it the old school way using Kirchhoff's law but it requires a bit more than counting with my fingers. I may give it a tray if it nags me enough https://www.omnicalculator.com/physics/internal-resistance

Danger Using Batteries in 'Self Discharge State'

I know that a battery may show a favorable X% battery condition leading one to think all is well and proceed to fly. Going back to my years of electronics and power source notes, a huge factor which may skew this % or seemingly healthy volts reading is the issue of battery internal...

    Landing Pad Night Lights

One useful feature. e.g. using two strobes/lights or LED string is to identify prevailing winds at the landing zone. As a fixed wing pilot. I'm always looking for a windsock to show me the wind direction
