Whats the best way to handle negative encounters?

Yes - my neighbors know I have drones and I have flown inspections of their roofs after damaging windstorms or when they have interesting things going on in their yards like construction and they'd like me to take some photos from the air. I've also let them fly the drones with me so that's...

    Mavic 3e Inventory

The last comparison I did yes. At 300' and sunny.

    Mavic 3e Inventory

There's no comparison. The M3E with it's mechanical shutter is faster and the photos have much less rolling shutter which really messes with the maps I create using the Matrice M30. For example, a conservation area that I regularly map documenting the restoration takes 45 minutes with the M30 at...

    Mavic 3e Inventory

I got my Matrice M30 surplus new from a surveying company in Australia. Cost $150 shipping and I got it in 3 days in Canada. Amazing! My Mavic 3E for surveying came from a surveying company in London, Ontario with 90 minutes of flight time. They had upgraded to a 350 RTK. It was a great deal I...

    Florida proposed law

In Canada here, it's 100' allowed over an obstruction. When I'm examining windmills which are over 400' over the blades, I'm allowed to fly up to 500' to clear the structure as long as I'm within 200' of the structure.

    Florida proposed law

I generally fly at 130' to avoid trees. If I'm doing a roof inspection, then generally I can do all of that over the owner's property since I'm only 20-30' away from the roof. Neighbors sometimes complain about seeing my drone in the air - assuming that all droners only have nefarious intent.

    More tariffs questions

In Canada here, we often sent goods purchased in the US back for repair/replacement. We had to use the proper forms to show that we had already paid duty when it first entered the country so we wouldn't be dinged twice for the same item. It might be a good idea to contact a broker to see if the...

    Florida proposed law

When I'm flying over residential areas, I usually fly high and quickly. If I'm flying my Mini 4 Pro at 400' you can't really see or hear it. What I'm worried about is when I'm doing real estate photos, then I'm flying lower and taking photos of the property from various angle which means I'm...

"Firmware is out-of-date" even though it isn't. Cannot take off

Have you tried resetting your controller back to factory settings? That's solved a couple of intractable problems for me in the past and is easy to do. Taking you through the process of connecting to your WiFI, etc. sometimes recovers a bad original initialization. A simple fix would be to tell...

    YouTube stutter 2560 x 1440 pixels

I had stutter when saving the video files in H265 format. I changed over to H264 and the stutter went away for all of my other video players. Not sure if what I see is what you're talking about. When playing the H265 videos, the playback would "hesitate" every couple of seconds continuously...

China Swats Down American Drone Manufacturers.

You can encrypt data saved on the Enterprise drones. You can fly without connection to the Internet. There is no need to upload your flights or save them on the DJI servers. Companies can separately download firmware updates and then sideload them onto the controllers and the drone from a...

Most absurd scam ad yet - Mavic 3 Pro look-alike for $85

Yeah - these ads are all over Facebook as well. Dozens of look alike ads showing Mavic 3 Pro drones flying and then, what they're really selling is some toy. Bait and switch.

Air 3 The Old Brickworks, Porthwen, Anglesey

The color and sharpness are quite nice. The area is perfect for your flying which was very professional. My only wish is for more spots where you hovered so we could examine the structures. The endless motion made it harder to enjoy the details and the spinning climb away from the building was...

Flying in Italian nature park zones

I'm not in Italy, so I can't speak to those rules, but we have similar rules in Canada here regarding National, Provincial Parks and Conservation Areas. I've been able to get permission to fly in some of them from the park Superintendents. But in all cases, I called and spoke directly to them -...

What drone do you use the most?

I have a Mini 3 Pro, a Mavic 3E and a Matrice M30. The Mavic 3E gets the most flight time since it has the best camera by far. I use the others in more selective situations that require either - something small and easy to carry (M3P), or inspections and telephoto shots (Matrice).
