Over the past 8 years, drone noise levels have shown no improvement

I have several DJI drones, and the latest acquisition - the NEO was surprisingly loud and irritating. I can clearly hear it over 500 feet away unlike my Mini 4 Pro, which I can't hear at that distance. Now my Matrice M30 sounds like an airplane - especially if flying into the wind. I can clearly...

    Best Frequency for Forest Flying

In forested areas, I could never get beyond 1300' before the signal degraded and ordinarily much less with my Mavic 3. I tried following a stream for a documentary, but small and almost invisible branches from stream side trees made it impossible. 2.4 GHz is the same frequency as your microwave...

Firmware update error 0x11210560001b at 71% on RC PRO

In the past when I had the problem where an update kept failing at a certain point I had to delete the cache and start again.

What is a safe height to go above power transmission lines?

I tend to keep at least 60 feet above the TOWERS - since the lines are lower and if I just fly over the lines, it's easy to forget the towers are higher and accidents might happen. So far, no transmission issues with my Mavic 3E, Mini 4 Pro or Matrice M30.

    DJI Cellular Dongle 2?

There are 2 versions of the Dongle 2 as well - one for the Chinese mainland and one for the rest of the world where connecting to and using the 4G network is allowed.

How often should props be changed

That's DJI's recommendation as well. I read it in one of my manuals, but can't remember which one.

Anyone else notice this phenomenon while flying?

My Air 2S attracted a lot of negative attention from seagulls like no other DJI drone I've owned. It might just be the pitch of the blades since I fly a Mini 4 Pro, a Mavic 3E and a Matrice M30 and the 2S was the one they hated LOL. I get interested looks from some birds with the Mini 4 Pro, and...

Whats the best way to handle negative encounters?

Yes - my neighbors know I have drones and I have flown inspections of their roofs after damaging windstorms or when they have interesting things going on in their yards like construction and they'd like me to take some photos from the air. I've also let them fly the drones with me so that's...

    Mavic 3e Inventory

The last comparison I did yes. At 300' and sunny.

    Mavic 3e Inventory

There's no comparison. The M3E with it's mechanical shutter is faster and the photos have much less rolling shutter which really messes with the maps I create using the Matrice M30. For example, a conservation area that I regularly map documenting the restoration takes 45 minutes with the M30 at...

    Mavic 3e Inventory

I got my Matrice M30 surplus new from a surveying company in Australia. Cost $150 shipping and I got it in 3 days in Canada. Amazing! My Mavic 3E for surveying came from a surveying company in London, Ontario with 90 minutes of flight time. They had upgraded to a 350 RTK. It was a great deal I...

    Florida proposed law

In Canada here, it's 100' allowed over an obstruction. When I'm examining windmills which are over 400' over the blades, I'm allowed to fly up to 500' to clear the structure as long as I'm within 200' of the structure.

    Florida proposed law

I generally fly at 130' to avoid trees. If I'm doing a roof inspection, then generally I can do all of that over the owner's property since I'm only 20-30' away from the roof. Neighbors sometimes complain about seeing my drone in the air - assuming that all droners only have nefarious intent.

    More tariffs questions

In Canada here, we often sent goods purchased in the US back for repair/replacement. We had to use the proper forms to show that we had already paid duty when it first entered the country so we wouldn't be dinged twice for the same item. It might be a good idea to contact a broker to see if the...

    Florida proposed law

When I'm flying over residential areas, I usually fly high and quickly. If I'm flying my Mini 4 Pro at 400' you can't really see or hear it. What I'm worried about is when I'm doing real estate photos, then I'm flying lower and taking photos of the property from various angle which means I'm...
