Holding "still" for a photo is much more demanding than the positioning signals for the drone. Tiny adjustments are constantly being made, and this will show up as jitter in a time lapse.

Best you can do here is 1) stay over a house or building instead of people and 2) make sure your drone is in tip-top shape.

Apparently the FAA website I quoted is wrong! A registered (stock) Mini 2 does not require RID-- I registered mine and they accepted the No RID check mark. Who's running this circus?
