I flew my Mavic 2 Pro last year in a couple of different EU countries and just retired from Portugal where I flew a couple of times.
I see no evidence that they're enforcing drone weight classes and making sure you're complying with the A1, A2, A3 category of flights, which requires being some...
In general, you wouldn't be able to fly within the center of any sizable town.
You'd have to go out to the countryside, where you might get pictures of towns in the distance, not below or right next to where the drone would fly.
I just looked up Reims on Geoportail, the center is all red, NFZ...
Supposedly now the drones shipping have the CE mark etched on the bottom of the aircraft, even those sold in the US.
At least on the newer models like the 3S and maybe the 3 as well.
Not sure about older models like the Mini 4.
Wish there was a way to put up polls here.
So where do Mavicpilots members fall between these two controllers?
People seem to prefer the RC2 and controllers with screens in general, less hassle with cords.
But are there other functional differences, like better radio performance on one...
Amazon has a couple of listings but no way to tell if they're reputable. No reviews and they're quoting long shipment times so they're probably sending from China and with the tariff situation, it might get held up in customs...
I still use the shoulder bag which came with my Mavic 2 Pro FMC.
Yes the batteries and the drone just fit and there are pockets for additional memory cards and propellers.
I would think it would fit the Air 3S? Or at least the Air 3S is a couple hundred grams lighter so that implies smaller...
I didn't do it while flying, because it was going to be too unwieldy. But between flights, I used it to recharge the controller.
It recharged fairly quickly.
But ultimately, I just have to look at replacing the whole kit.
I was going to wait to see what the Mavic 4 or Mini 5 Pro would be like. Mini 5 Pro would probably do the same dumb Quad Bayer thing, on a smaller sensor than the 3S.
Mavic 4, maybe it will be QB, maybe it won’t.
But with the tariffs situation, I may have no choice but to pick up an Air 3S...
Well some big outlets like B&H still have some models at pre-tariff prices but back ordered on the 3Sand Mini 4 Pro.
Presumably when they are back in stock, they would have tariffs applied. Thats assuming retailers would order stock with such high tariffs, because they might conclude that...
Flew a couple more times on this trip. The gimbal errors for the most part went away.
The fast battery drain on the controller is an issue though, makes it difficult to use all 3 of my batteries.
But today at one location, I was getting weak signals and disconnect. One thing is that the...
I had about 10 sites approved, didn't get to fly at all. Weather just wasn't cooperating. Only one day out of 5 days with sunshine.
Other days had some sunshine but mixed with rain and heavy wind. Sao Laurencio was sunny on a webcam when I set out from Funchal but by the time I arrived, wind...
Do you mean if an American buys it in Canada and Europe?
Because if they try that the shipment will be checked at Customs and they will make you pay.
Or in my case, I'm in Portugal now. If I were to find an Air 3S while in Europe and I tried to bring it back, I would be expected to declare...
Only chance is if some stores still have inventory from shipments from months ago, before there were tariffs.
But what is unfortunate is that DJI seems to have gone more for selling directly, through their site, while distributors like Amazon and B&H haven't had a lot of inventory, especially...
