one of my first flights over a moat towards a castle resulted in a squadron of swallows deciding that it would be fun to buzz a newbie. Theres no way you will out run these sky torpedo's, thankfully i survived. got them on video, realised how close they really got.

The Abbey is in Neath, and the castle is Carew, Pembroke.

After advice on "flying by screen" I stuck to the basics and totally enjoyed the flight. Ignore the building work as this was simply my training flight. Better when I get more experience.

Taking all your advice on board i have registered and gained my operator and flyer id. Reading through everything and taking the test which is in all essence common sense, i realise that all new comers to the hobby need to do this before flying. I didn't, but now realise its easier in the long run.
