Mavic OK with ipad mini 4?

My Gen4 Mini works well with my Mavic Pro, but not with the Mini2. It just does not have the computing power needed. I also found that my iPhone 6Max was inadequate with the Mini2, so I upgraded to a refurbed XMax and that works well with the Mini2. I'm contemplating getting a Gen5 ipad mini...

Been away a while, pondering Mini 2

I bought an original Mavic Pro back in the day, Also bought a refurb iPad mini Gen 4 for it. Haven't updated any software or firmware for it, it flew so well, why bother. Gain restrictions? Nah. So now with the Mini 2 having a 4K cam, even longer flight times, and under the 250g point of...

    It's all good!

It used to be an issue. If you wanted to fly above a building or mountain and you launched from below... no one but you is talking about breaking regs. It used to be an issue when MP was new and firmware was old...

How much life left on original Mavic pro?

https://www.google.com/search?q=mavic+pro+gimbal+guard Mine looks like the Ultimaxx picture. It shows when in full acceleration, but doesn't give flair like the clear plastic bubble does.

I'll be checking the other videos too, thanks!

How much life left on original Mavic pro?

It'll only be obsoleted in your mind... or if FAA sells the frequencies to a corporation. If you're concerned, buy some props (I bought spares but am still on my original set). Do get a gimbal guard, and toss the plastic bubble it came with. Protect the gimbal, it's the most vulnerable part. I...

    Hello from Minnesota!

Do read the manual, print it and keep it with your MA for reference. I use my Mavic Pro to do much the same. Used it in Idaho to scope out prospecting spots, use it on BLM land to see if there's a turn-around spot up the road before I pull my trailer into a bad spot. Only time I crashed was...

    It's all good!

When the MP was new, and folks didn't like the 400' altitude limit (USA), they would rig boxes to draw partial vacuum on startup of the MP to trick it into thinking it was launching at a higher altitude, so they could fly it higher... Back in school the physics lab had a bell jar on a vacuum...

    Mavic mini charging jar?

Vacuum bell jar, for higher altitudes... that was my first thought anyway...

    Actual Weight.

And since heat (of the motors) rises, that will help it weigh less too!

    It's all good!

Just checking in to see chat about the new Mini. The charging 'bell' instantly caught my attention, a small hand vacuum pump might cheat the altitude limits, or are there any? With it being outside FAA limits, perhaps it's not fly zone regulated? Well, time to research what others may think and...

    FLIR option for M2E?

Sounds like a good application for a DJI OSMO.

    Do you Trust your mavic

I trust the Mavic, it's my own judgement I hold in question... I keep reading the manual - again - and understand more. I realize my mistakes, usually from ignoring what I've read. I do believe other pilots suffer from this more than admitted, and the Mavic plays scape goat. Having a background...

    What Firmware are You Flying

Same here. I run in different directions from the herd, and don't need the the baubles at the other side of the hurdles. Running free, that's just me.

    firmware update?

Amen! You speak truth, brother. .o4oo 4ever! I don't let my iPad Mini4 go on the web either. Maps? We don't need no stinkin maps...
