I read that the ipad without cellular will lack some motion capabilities... The drone has gps to navigate and the ipad needs unactivated cellular service to do the same when the operator changes location. A wifi only ipad does not have gps.

Auto exposure has always been problematic for that reason. The way to get around this issue is to set your exposure manually, shot by shot. Pia? Yep. The auto exposure setting is a compromise you have to work around.

I should learn to proofread...the important point is the tablet needs the cell connectivity (with or with out activation with a cell service) to have gps capability.
