    RTH over high Terain

I thank you for that little tip of info. Since the Air2S doesn't have side sensors I initially had mine on Brake.

    Your very first flying experience

Interesting question. My very first flying experience was being bucked off horses. My next first flying experience was through video; you know, the movie called Top Gun. LoL. More Seriously, my first flying experience was in a single engine Cessna. I took lessons in the early 90's. It was some...

    Windblown pad

My dumb *** has been packing around a 2' square piece of oil soaked plywood...It didn't show much contrast to ground until I painted it, but if it's windy enough to blow it up, it's likely too windy to fly the distances I need to fly. It's worked better than the soft light pads just because our...

    Back on the altitude......

That's very true. You said it. There's no guarantee of safety. Not in our life or the life of a drone. Anybody who promised that is a bald face liar. In my particular area, no trees exists that are over 80 feet. Personally I'd much rather have the topo map within DJI FLY instead of that road...

    Back on the altitude......

Estimated...Certainly works for me and my drone uses, most of the time, but my reply was directed toward folks who want to be more precise. Perhaps some NEED to be more precise due to surveying or mapping landscapes. I don't know, it was just a thought. ??

    Back on the altitude......

There's potentially a very simple way to to determine distance above ground or distance away from ANY object.....While flying, (at least hovering) without any calculations. If DJI or anyone else will manufacture is a different question. It seems like it would be easy to...

Tripltek as monitor with the DJI RC Pro

Extra Lag would be a deal breaker I think. Supposedly one of the benefits of O3 and O3+ is faster transmission, I'd hate to go backwards.

Tripltek as monitor with the DJI RC Pro

I like your idea! Hopefully some action on this. I hate using my phone and really like the RC Pro (with limited experience). That larger screen would be sweet but how would we mount it?

    What drone for fighting wind?

We're very much in the same boat. Wait for weather to cooperate and we'd never get any air time. Anything under 10 mph, I consider CALM and that rarely happens. We had high wind warnings and gusts over 70 mph just a couple of days ago. Tomorrow afternoon is supposedly 15 mph, gusting to 30...

    Advanced Remote Controller settings

I fully agree. I personally want 25% stick to be 25% throttle and the same for the top end....Directly Proportional.

    Back on the altitude......

There's an additional method that doesn't require a paper topography map. Although that certainly works and prior to cell phones (and all else digital in the world) we relied on those for pre flight planning in real aircraft....1970's era Cessna for example. There are apps we can install on our...

Is DJI Fly app v1.5.8 available for Smart Controller (first version)?

It installed on the new smart controller (RC Pro) without any issue but I don't know if it's backwards compatible to the original SC. I heard those are being phased out? Might be a moot point, my understanding is; there's now a 1.5.9 revision. Hopefully somebody here tried it on the original...

RC connection lost regularly, in first minutes of flight.

This sounds very similar to the problems I had with a brand new dji system, purchased less than a month ago. Sounds like you have the mini 2 and I'm assuming the standard controller.? My problems were with the Air 2S and RC Pro controller. Both came from the factory together as the combo. Other...

    Bizarre Wind Event

Dust Devil without the dust, I would agree. We see those (usually with the dust) often and year round in Wyoming. I've seen them on lakes with water, on plains with dust, smoke or snow. Even seen them in hills/mountains with fire and smoke. Seems perfectly logical to me that if the ground is...

Mavic Air2 versus Wave - it didn't go well

That really is a bummer Big Time! Very Cool footage prior to the Suck though. Thanks for posting it. Most of us don't ever get to see that unless we're on a boat. I've been splashed by some that came over the side of the boat, man that's a bunch of water in a short amount of time!
