Mine is also not switching automatically during recording. If I start zooming with the right wheel from 1X it stops at 2.5X. That is all, I have to activate 2.5X on the screen to continue. I have done the firmware to .300 on 2 M4p's. I checked gimbal movement before and after with no noticeable difference. Checked yaw, pitch and roll and seems the same and no noise or clicking. The only thing it does is a gimbal reset when it gets to about 60° of roll.

I made it work but it is ugly. After getting the divider out of the way the controller fits flat under the M5P. I have the controller in a soft pack below. Very poor design. Each divider is sewn in on one side with no options to reconfigure. All you can do is fold them out of the way.
