I too have joined the ranks of the Glass Bottom Boat Owners, otherwise known as Mavic Pro Pilots. To gaze at surroundings from low height brings discovery from the third dimension that at once makes the landscape different and interesting. I am certain all sorts of discoveries are going to be made as more of these machines find their way into the field. But in order to get there, to get that view, we have to learn how to fly there. And humans flying have always been problematic. There is something about three dimensional geometry that makes my head hurt. We just want to fly the **** thing and will end up either in a tree or the pool. There are no mulligans in flying. And the video of the poor vblogger, who is staring out to sea after his beloved MP has just disappeared below its surface, is painful. To relive that distress in his face, I predict, will wash over the faces of a thousand others in the next ninety days. It should be mandatory watching for all would-be pilots, just like automobile accident films are for drivers Ed. "Why did I do this?", I ask myself. That maybe I should instead invest in a company that recovers golf balls, design a Mavic Pro-Like submersible to go after and retrieve all the sunken MPs soon to be baptized. -ZLV or Z Local Vertical is the technical term for Glass Bottom Boat mode. Which will be the name of my craft whenever it finally arrives at my door? Will advise.
