2020 iPad pro and magic air 2 connect problems.

Hey. I recently attempted to fly using my 2020 12.9in iPad pro. It gave me the no rc connection. I used the regular cable that came with my iPad. I also tired the cable that came with the magic. But, gave me no connection. Is there a special cable I need to buy?

I use an older ipad pro (10.5), so I am using a USB-c to lightning cable. I lost my OEM cable and now I burn thru cables like crazy. I still haven't found one I like and it seems like the more money they cost (most expensive - Dewalt cable at $27 so far) the shorter they last. It's bizarre. Best one I've used so far is a $8 cable from the RV section at Walmart. And the connection on the controller is usually where I have problems. They never fit real snug unless you modify them in someway...
