48MP photo aspect ratio

Can 48 megapixel photos be captured at 16:9 or only 4:3? When I go into settings for other resolutions, there are options for both aspect ratios, but only 4:3 for 48 megapixels. Thanks for any help.

48 Mp is the full sensor size at 4:3 ratio, 8000 x 6000 pixels. 16:9 ratio is a crop from the full size, so about 8000 x 4500 pixels.

Thanks. I guess you’re suggesting you have to crop to 16:9 in post.

I wish DJI would add 3:2 ratio, its the standard for digital cameras.

I would recommend you to always shoot with the 4:3 option. You can always crop the image as you wish in post. If you use the 16:9 setting, it will still practically take the same 4:3 shot, but it will crop it. So using the 16:9 -setting you will only limit your options in post.

If you have it set for 16:9, it will only save that part of the data. If you shoot 4:3, then you can decide how to crop later.

What is the full res file size when shooting at the 48 mp setting? Anyone know that? I know can very a bit with the subject.

From the samples I have found online, it looks like 15 to 21 MB for jpg and 92 for Raw files.
