I don't know for sure, but I would think that it is all computer orchestrated ...think they set up a waypoints flight in each one?

Sort of.
They have a 3D graphics program that, basically, creates a 3d image. Then they map the drones with a sophisticated compiling algorithm.
Basically, the program creates individual waypoint missions 5000 times.

How do they start 5000 drones at nearly the same time? It can’t be by pressing a button like on a DJI drone.

Very cool. I get the idea of computer controlling everything. Of course. But how do 5000 drones avoid hitting each other? Way points cannot possibly be that precise??? What am I missing??
