Air 3 A windy day at Rivington Pike

A sunny early September Saturday afforded us the chance to take a walk at Rivington. Starting at the Bran Car Park, we visited Liverpool Castle, located on the banks of the Reservoir, then took the long walk up to the Pike, where the wind made itself very evident. A short drone flight, a picnic, then back down to the car through the gardens.

A total of 5 miles walked, with stunning views all the way around from Snowdonia and the Peak District to the Lake District - even if he furthest views were only the merest hints in the haze...

It would be good to visit here on a haze-free day!

Wondered where you have been recently. Very nice though got a bit dizzy with the circles round the mound. Beautiful day but looked a tad windy. Do you ever get anyone not liking the drone around them? Quite a few people up there but all seemed happy and relaxed.

Lol, still here, but I am up to date with editing, so nothing to post except what I can capture at the weekend, and the previous weekend was a washout... Got this and Liverpool Castle on Saturday, so will have another video released this week, ut then I need to get out and fly some more, and the weather is getting problematic at the weekends...

Yeah, not a massive amount you can do with a simple structure on top of a hill, hence the orbits.

TBH I have only ever had 2 folks unhappy with the drone, both in Dumfries and Galloway 3 years ago, one farmer and one NT warden, since then I have only had positive interactions. There was already a drone up when we arrived, so I waited for him to finish and then gave it a fly, just about flyable winds at 24mph... If the other drone flyer hadnt already been up I would have politely asked everyone there if they minded - as I have done in several other locations - and most folks are more interested than annoyed..

“Orbits” that’s the word I was after. Weather’s turned here so although I did pop my MA2 up over the Downs last weekend to capture what I thought would be a green swathe after the recent rain, frankly it was still desert like so didn't post. Will try again this week. I find the same, people tend to be curious and interested rather than annoyed. This vid was quite populated but you had a precedent so perhaps they were used to the prop whine.
