... uneventful, predictable, and flawless. No controller issues, no application issues, RTH tested perfectly, imaging exceptional...
Due to illness, holidays, and bad weather, I finally got her off the ground today.
For me, like many following these posts, there seems to be an abundance of malfunctions and glitches, but that is the nature of a forum such as this. For the most part, people are here to find answers and solve problems, so I get that.
But, as of now, I have none of those to offer, but for those still waiting and/or worrying, what I do have to offer is the likelihood that your story will go similarly... and a little wisdom.
Due to the above listed delays, I was able to unbox, charge, configure, bench test (with props off) check settings, check functions of imaging system, and recheck. Not a perfect substitute for real world flight conditions, but removing a lot of question marks nevertheless.
Notice I didn't mention a lot of calibration? I am not one to calibrate factory settings, unless specifically indicated. I did check the status of all critical systems, including joystick, compass, and IMU and they all indicated normal and in perfect calibration. This is just me, and others might disagree with this, but in three years of building and flying multirotors this approach seems to have worked out for me. Compass calibration might be the only thing I might err on the side of caution, and visually checking the status of your joystick positions.
One last tidbit, I am using an older Samsung Galaxy S4 Andriod, and it hasn't as much as flickered...(knock on wood).
So at least for now, all is well and it will hopefully be a long and healthy relationship with Mavic. Here's hoping you will be able to tell the same boring story yourself.
