Air 2S have a 3:2 aspect ratio?

I haven’t heard if the Air 2S camera sensor uses an 3:2 ratio like the MP2. I much prefer it vs the 4:3 ratio in the Air 2.

When shooting stills uncropped it gives a 3:2 aspect ratio (5472×3648)

You can work out the aspect ratio for video
5.4K: 5472×3078
4K Ultra HD: 3840×2160

Those are both 16:9

I like the 16x9 ratio. Gives you room to crop and still get a good image.

If you are talking about stills, you have it the wrong around.
The full sized image 20MP is 3:2 (5472×3648)
The 16:9 image is smaller (5472×3078) and is the 3:2 image with some of the top and bottom cropped off.

My drone is the Mavic Air, which I believe shoot in a 16/9 ratio. I don't dispute any prior posts. It was simply a statement of personal preference for the wider format.

It's the same width but not as high.
If you shoot with the biggest original image, you preserve your options to crop any way you choose.
If you shoot in 16:9, you've given away your options before you even take the image.

Thanks. I honestly never did the calculations and just assumed the 16/9 ratio provided a wider shot. Never thought about the height. Thanks for doing the math (I should have done it myself) I try to learn a bit every day - even if I should have been able to figure it out myself with minimal effort. So thanks.

If you use a phone (not a tablet/smart controller), the 16:9 ratio fits the landscape view nicely, whereas the 3:2 doesn’t.

…I imagine this is why you thought the 16:9 was better.

It definitely makes framing shots easier and even just seeing things in general having it use the whole phone screen.
