I opted to install both my Controller and Drone with Gigastone 256GB Sd Cards
While I'm just getting my Flight Practice to familiarize myself with all the things the Air 3 offers ,Seems I may fill up my sd card with a lot of Practice videos.. should I have opted for larger ??

Not sure how that's possible, maybe you have all day long and bunch of batteries (or portable charger) in the field; in that case I would bring along a laptop and copy off your files throughout the day. However, 512gb cards are inexpensive and if you get lucky, you can find 1TB cards pretty cheap. I recently purchased a 1.5TB in the bundle:

Total Amount: $95.35

SanDisk Ultra® microSDXC™ UHS-I Card - 1.5TB
SKU: SDSQUAC-1T50-GN6MA
Capacity: 1.5 TB
Qty: 1
Price: $119.99

SanDisk microSDXC™ UHS-I card for Nintendo Switch - 128GB
SKU: SDSQXAO-128G-AN6ZY
Capacity: 128 GB
Qty: 1
Price: $25.99
Bundle Discount Applied!
SanDisk Ultra® microSDXC™ UHS-I Card with Adapter - 512GB
SKU: SDSQUAC-512G-GN6MA
Capacity: 512 GB
Qty: 1
Price: $44.99

It's not a case of bigger = better.
1. You don't need to have a card in your controller.
2. You only need an SD card that's big enough to hold all the image and video files that you are prepared to lose in a single incident.

I'm Learning that to be true,Opted for the S D card in the controller to save flight data .And if I'm honest I thought it was required .

The flight data gets saved to the internal storage rather than an SD card.
This is what works for me.

You also need a card with a speed fast enough to capture the video at your desired rate and resolution.

No criticism intended, that's more than I'm willing to lose. I won't go over 32gb. I have a 3TB Passport Wireless Pro SSD that makes it really easy to unload the SD card in the field, and really like that protocol.

For clarification, I'm using the really hi-cap microSD cards in the goggles to perpetually record the data from the goggles. I got tired of downloading and offloading both the drone video and the goggles video after every session so I'll let the goggles video run forever with the slower 1.5TB card and I can access that data whenever I want as necessary. I once had my goggles shut off on me and didn't notice anything wrong at the time but I was able to review the goggles video which was helpful.

If I could still buy 32 GB cards ... that's what I'd be using too.
Mine only fly one time before being swapped out.
They never get anywhere close to even half full.

While you don't "need" to have a card in the controller, it's nice to have one as a back up for those times you forget to put the one back in the drone.

No need to ask how I know this....

Respecfully, these are not the correct card for the Air 3. They are U1, not U3, and they are A1, not A2. These just wont be able to keep up if you try to do high resolution, high frame rate video.

I just ordered the Air 3 tonight and bought a new 128gb SD card along with it. The SD card I currently have I will be putting in the controller as nothing more than a back up for the numerous times I've forgot to return the card to the drone.

With all these large SD cards, it seems repeating @Meta4's post is a good idea:

Not slagging on anyone if they prefer going a long time before unloading media. Simply a risk that many don't think of until someone points it out.

I have a Sandisk Extreme 512, and that is drastic overkill. Even continuously recording, I would not fill it up going through my 3 batteries. But since they are so (relatively) cheap, having enough room removes a very easy to manage failure point, so...
