OK, so the Air2 costs a chunk more, so it's gonna be better... but... I'm in an interesting position.
Tomorrow, I receive a Mini Flymore as a gift. I can crack it open and play, or, I can return it unopened to Amazon and get credit, then perhaps pick up the Air2 at a reasonable cost to myself... should I? Anyone who is using / used both:

- how much better is the Air2 camera for stills? Especially around recovering highlights/shadows from RAW?
- one problem I read a lot about with the mini is it's so light that moderate wind troubles it. The Air2 weighs twice as much, how much better does it handle wind?
- range comparison- not that I particularly want to fly huge distances but holding onto signal at normal distances is important... I've seen a few posts here of people complaining about the Air2 losing signal at quite a short distance... is that typical (bear in mind I am in the UK, so CE, and would rather not tinker with hacks and stuff to flip mode)
- any other thoughts? WWYD?

I've got both, to sum up my thoughts. Just get the Air 2 its a more versatile drone with a better camera and features. In your situation the only reason I'd pick a Mini is if size is the absolute most important feature. But it doesn't read like it....

Other than better camera and being more stable in wind. A couple of big factors made me go for the MA2. Tracking, its a cool feature and can track you on your bike, running.......what ever you want to do. Also collision avoidance, of course its not perfect, but with front, rear and bottom sensors, gives you a chance! Its pretty cool to, i had them on and it stopped mid air about 5m above my head(front end up like and emerg stop). Its twice the price, i am not sure its twice as good, i cant answer that part. The mini sure looks a fun easy to transport drone though.

If you can, keep the gift and enjoy, then if its you, get the air 2. That way you have 2 drones, a back up.......2 is 1, 1 is 0!

I have both as well. Bought the MA2 6 weeks after the MM getting me hooked on this hobby.
I’m keeping the mini for hiking and mountain biking. The size/ weight difference isn’t massive obviously but on the long trips it’s going to be a bit easier.
However, I will say that if you haven’t even opened the mini it may be a better option for you to put that towards the MA2.

I had the Mini for a time, then realized that none of the selling points of the mini were important to me. It didn’t matter to me that it was tiny, and it didn’t matter to me that I didn’t have to register it... I did not care for the flimsy construction. It was a compromise for the weight that, again, was unimportant to me..

If these factors are irrelevant to you as well, and have the few extra hundred to spend, bypass the mini and get the Air 2. It’s just a whole higher level drone.
