Absolutely! Optical Zoom for the maximum vertigo effect!I agree with you. But that depends on the lenght and intensity of the "vertigo effect" you desire to put on your video... With a M2Z You can zoom (optically) 2x in 4K only, and keep everything in 4K if the result you want is achieved. Something you can't do with M2P.
For the other intelligent flight mode I'm aware the final footage will be 1080 (for most of them, not all).
The 1080p output on the automated Dolly Zoom takes full effect of the 4x dynamic zoom in 1080p on the M2Z. The M2P post vertigo effect is limited to an effective 2x dynamic zoom with 1080p output, which you can create manually in full 4K on the M2Z.
It's an interesting effect, but it also requires a strong foreground subject and a very distant background with detail. It makes the viewer dizzy, so best used selectively!
Most people using these Intelligent Flight Modes are sharing them on social media, so the 1080p output keeps the file size down, and enables the onboard processor to render them immediately, without post processing. The social media viewers are also watching everything in 1080p on their smartphones on a data plan! The full 4K is reserved for the connoisseurs like us who consume their video on 4K monitors, and appreciate the difference!
