Spectacular footage, absolutely love it!
Stonehenge was on my bucket list for a long time and last year when attending the yearly air tattoo in Fairford we went a day early to pay it a visit and the area and it's surroundings are stunning.

I love the way how you start your movie and it looks like there is only a hill. Then slowly but surely all the other mounds and locations are revealed... makes me wanna book a plane and go there! Thanks for posting and looking forward to more footage!

BTW, is it possible to fly at Stonehenge if you go really early before it is open to the public or so? I recall there is a military airfield nearby, so maybe prohibited to fly there?

English heritage have banned drones from their locations but they can't control the airspace.
My flying club is situated nr Stonehenge, approx 1 mile as the crow flies and we do ring air ops during the week for all types of flying, we don't have to but we do out of courtesy.
Before both video's i was told it's clear to fly.

Stonehenge...The security guy did wave me off but at 6.45am mid winter i never flew in a way to endanger anyone :)

English Heritage "don't allow" drones at their sites and at busy times it would be risky to get close in any case - but early/late and from a discrete distance it's unlikely anyone would even notice let alone care.

Hi NickB
As you are a member of the flying club...
I was interested in your comment "English heritage have banned drones from their locations but they can't control the airspace."
I am a new drone (i prefer Flying Camera) pilot (1st Nov 2018), but used to fly microlights when I lived in the UK. So I did study airlaw as part of my license.
I am curious when a drone is banned, but can still be flown, as they can't control airspace... would you eleborate please.
This is not a 'trick' question I am genuinely curious.
Mainly as they are many posts on this forum that state you cannot fly in certain area's (not ATC controlled), but it seems provided you fly your your approach from outside the area, do not land and return the same way (not overflying people nor building) you are within the (UK) law..

Many thanks in advance

Graham
