App Restricting Ability to Fly my PP

Yesterday I tried to fly my PP but couldn't get a connection from my phone app to the aircraft. I decided to reload the app but had the same result. I switched controller cables and "bingo"' that fixed the connection issue! I flew for two hours.
Today I went to fly and the app wouldn't let me take off. It said I had to link my telephone number to complete my registration.
I complied and on the next screen it said enter your phone number in mainland China? I live in the U.S. and it wouldn't take my U.S. telephone number.
I concluded that perhaps I screwed up when I reloaded the app yesterday.
I went home and re-downloaded the app and went back to fly my PP. It allowed me to take off but it was restricting my flight to 94 ft. altitude and 200 (guess) feet in distance as if the beginner mode was on. I landed the craft and went into setting and checked but the beginner mode was not on?
Finally, I went to take off again and I got the error message again saying I had to link my phone number to mainland China. Again I wasn't allowed to take off.
Any ideas as to what has happened from yesterday to today? Thank you for any help!

I contacted Tech Support tonight. They told me that the reason I got the error messages about linking my phone to my drone was because the GPS singnal was too weak in the area I was flying. I haven't a clue why it caused these issues but I did fly it tonight and everything seems okay!

OK, I think I get it. The app defaults to China if it can't get your location, which it does through AC GPS or if that's not available, then phone GPS. However app has a problem getting GPS on iOS devices.
