A listed landmark in the middle of nowhere that just cannot be missed...

Our hearts and minds see the views, and think this uninhabited place must be wilderness, and yet it was and is a living landscape that humans have inhabited for thousands of years, living in harmony with nature while trying to survive...

The Lime Kilns show that just because a place is remote does not mean it is wilderness or has never been productive...

Another great video! Very interesting place. I wonder how far into the mountain these rooms go?

Thanks... the rooms are where the furnace was, the limestone - quarried onsite - was added to the top and heated to become quick lime, so they go back a bit further than the round holes on the top, but not much further...

Very nice! Maybe it was so remote due to fumes from running the kiln. Just a guess. Nicely done Suzanne!
