The road bridge was built in 1929.

The older bridge was built by John Gwynne between 1769-1771 what a stunning bridge.
Grade 2 listed.

St Eata's Church stunning building.

Nicely flown. I'm guess I get the older bridge would have been used by horses, wagons and carriages. Great architecture.

Nice views and close to the Mytton and Mermaid for light refreshment afterwards.
Be careful about straying across the road as the Nat Trust get very precious about flying over the park and they own land either side of the old A5. Earlier this year I was videoing the deer in the park from at least 300ft and was "accosted" by a NT groundsman who told me I was not allowed to fly over NT property. It took me quite a while before he accepted that I could overfly the site but not take off or land.
NT headquarters are deliberately very vague (misleading) in their advice to staff about what can and cannot be done.
I am a Nat Trust member of some 50 years standing and I worked on their properties for nearly 40 years so I do have the principles of the NT at heart.
