Drones can give a perspective of landscapes that canot be observed by any other means, including helicopters. Rock Climbers come close. This was done using the DJI Mini 2 in 4K.

Hi Jim,
wow these are fantastic rock formations and very well captured ? What an amazing region you live in!
thanks for sharing, I enjoyed the fight throug and along the rocks!
cheers Paul

Brilliant flying!!! Loved this video all the way. There were several shots that would have been perfect for a really bad Spaghetti Western movie! :-) ...and you had the perfect music for that too.

What's with the color change halfway up the mountain...what causes that?

Nicely done, great choice for the music. I find myself strangely drawn to the dessert, though I've only experienced them once on a trip to New Mexico.

My guess, while the area was the bottom of some ancient lakebed, that formed the sandstone, there was some kind of dramatic event that changed the source of the water flowing into the lake, bringing in sediment of a red colour.

It's been a few years since geology class....

The Geology at Red Rock Canyon is very convoluted from what I have read. The lighter or cream colored rock is mostly limestone deposited in shallow seas around 300 million years ago. This area was uplifted above the sea and a dry period followed that deposited sand dunes over the area. The dunes eventually solidified into rock or sandstone over the millions of years to follow and the high iron content of the sand oxidized to form rust which gives the sandstone its Red color. I'm not sure, but I believe the line or demarkation between the red and cream colored rock represents the bottom of the original sandstone deposits which later oxidized. Would sure be interesting to have a time machine and be able to see the last 300 million years here condensed down to around 1 hour. Also interesting to see that the pictures coming in from Mars much resemble these landscapes, minus the vegetation. Glad you all like the video, thanks.
