Wow. That phenomenon is called a murmuration. You're lucky to have seen it. Starlings do that when they're congregation in flocks for migration, just before descending to their roost for the night. (The presence of a predator can trigger them. Given the distance from the drone, it's highly unlikely that you had anything to do with it.) Did you see where they went to roost?

Yeh the small island I was flying around was where they all go to roast.
Want to go back again soon and recapture it, as after I stopped recording a lot more turned up and joined the main group.
