So today I crashed my new mavic 2 zoom after i got giddy and it got snagged in some branches. There seems to be minimal damage except to the LED on the front arm. I have ordered another set of propellers but I’m not sure about the LED. Will this have to go back to DJI or a repair centre or is this a common part?
Thanks

its only a little plastic lens, maybe you could fashion something from a bit of coloured or plain plastic if your handy with a file and glue it on, piece of old car lens or simular

Found completely new set of legs for mavic 2, with the motor, leds, cables and whole arms just for 36£ on ebay (2min of search)

ebay parts

I wouldn’t have a clue how to assemble that though. Thanks for looking tho. I think I’ll put some clear plastic over it and tape that on, and send it back to DJI when I can.

Im not saying you would have to change whole leg, just use it to take original plastic pice and swapped to your mavic. It's looks like is just pushed in. Use small flat screwdriver and remove it from new leg and just pushed it back to your original mavic.
If not there is 3 screws at the bottom of motor that hold the stand, but this is just my 2cents..

If you are not interested in the cosmetic look, you can tape it or use clear plastic. If you want to do as @star4870 suggested, you can buy the whole new arm, then just take the lens off of the new arm and replace the broken one.

This is not as easy as it sounds. You cant use a screwdriver unless it is tiny, or you will scratch the lens. I use a razor blade in the top corner, then pry it off very slowly. The lens has 4 prongs, 2 on either side of the lens. Once you get one of the corners loose, you can use a bigger screwdriver to pop it off. Every time I have done this, the lens goes flying off the table, so I make sure my dog is not in the room or it will end up in his mouth.

Have fun and good luck.

Wow thanks very much. Really appreciate all the detail. I am still stuck between what to do as I am not too worried about the cosmetic look, and am willing I tape it, but don’t know if it will provide enough protection? I don’t want any moisture to get into the drone otherwise then it’ll be completely done for. Thanks

Well, if you're not that interested in cosmetics, maybe you can find a tinted piece of plastic, and use flexible adhesive to glue it on. That will keep all the moisture out, but still allow you to see the light. It all depends on how permanent a solution you're looking for, or just a quick field repair to get you flying. A quick field repair would be Scotch tape. (Do they call it Scotch tape in Scotland? lol)

I use Loctite flexible adhesive that I get from the local hardware store because it is strong but flexible, and is easy to peel off if you use too much.

Ok I will try tape. We just call it sellotape or duct tape? I’m not sure. I don’t want to glue anything as it may void my DJI care policy. I’m unsure whether to use my DJI care to send it back. Because I spoke to the DJI and they said if I sent it back to them it would have to be a full replacement as they don’t stock the LED cover. And I would have to pay a £79 fee and that would be one of my replacements used up. I don’t really want to do that since it’s all that’s wrong is the tiny LED cover. The only other thing is the propellers which snapped but I’ve ordered a a few new sets. What do you reckon?

(that didn't take long, to prang it!)
hot glue would be a good temp' fix around the perimeter of where the cover was and try and find a piece of clear placcy or even tape onto the glue just before it sets
hot glue always comes off clean if you go for a permanent pro job in the future

I know, i had it doing circles and was too fast and misjudged how far away it was before it collided with a tree. I’m scared with glue as I’m not very good at DIY and if anything happens it will void the DJI CARE. Think I’m going to tape the plastic on. Thanks though!
