Are you the operator of this magnificent drone?

Really nice! Just curious, since that tethered drone is essentially electrically grounded, what type of safety distance precautions do they have to follow while flying close to high tension lines like that in order to prevent a lightning show from happening? I’m assuming that’s a powered tether, or is it just a nonconductive safety line of some sort?

No I am not. It belongs to B C Hydro or one of the contractors. They are using it to string wires from the brand new dam wire grid. . They are starting to fill the reservoir this week. Check out my new video on it or a longer one showing all the new roads and bridges for construction of the new dam.

It is all brand new construction to the grid. The dam is just starting to fill the reservoir so there in no electricity in anything yet. I think a year or 2 away yet. Look at my other reply. It has 2 interesting videos on it. Thank you

Oh, no wonder why they’re using such a robust heavy lifter. Is that a steel cable it’s stringing? I was confused as I thought it was a tether to power the drone and wondered why it also had such a large bank of batteries on it. Wow, impressive! They used to do that type of work using helicopters, a risky endeavor!
