I know what you mean. I grew up in the nearest town, Grantham. Of course, we could never see the Castle from the air, but it certainly exuded a powerful impression upon us all...

It's a beautiful shot of a beautiful castle. I am disturbed by the dark shadows of the left sided foreground. Certainly you could open those shadow details with software. I notice this in many of the shots submitted.
If requested, I can work on the image to show you the difference.

Yes it’s certainly a nice place to live, I live at Stathern a small village a few miles down the road from the castle. We’re very lucky to have the castle and the 11th generation Duke of Rutland who lives there too. It’s a shame the duke wasn’t at home when you visited.

Very. Ice but the original postings the best. The darker edges don’t bother me at all as you are drawn to the main subject.
