Seems we’ll need a £75 licence to fly BLOS (with extra kit to keep tabs on the drone). No problem with that as I have never done it. Watch this space I presume.

I imagine, after reading the consultation paper, that drones with the necessary navigation and identification systems would be way beyond any but the large scale commercial user.

BLOS is not and can not be safe without drone mounted detect and avoid capability. And most likely a transponder of sort so it can also be seen.

This isn't likely to appear on consumer drones for weight and power reasons alone.
