Mini 2 Blackrock castle in Cork city, Ireland

Wanted to share some footage taken at Blackrock castle, 2km outside the city centre of Cork city, where I live at the moment. The castle is at the banks of the river Lee and was originally constructed in the 16th century to protect the Cork harbour, but is now a museum.

About the observatory dome, I would love to make up a story about how astronomy was already very strong in Cork back in the 16st century. However, obviously this is a later addition to the castle (just like some other parts by the way. Not everything is from the 16st century on this castle). The castle's observatory houses an interactive astronomy centre, exhibiting a "tour of the universe" and a radio telescope that beams messages composed by school groups towards nearby stars.
