I have been watching a lot of the Mavic 4 Pro videos, and notice something common to most of them that makes me curious.
Everyone seems gloriously enthusiastic about the auto-power on feature of both the RCP2 and the drone itself.

But I was always taught that we should start drones stationary on the ground because it was better that they were level and stable while the various sensors and gimbals are being calibrated, so if that M4P turns on as you unfold the legs then I am surprised that neither the gimbal the IMU or the various gyros in the FC seem to care if the unit is dangling about like a **** in the breeze while it is initialising all that. Am I alone in that instinct ?

And yet it must be fine if DJI have built it in. It just seems to so wrong to me to have that thing bouncing around in a hand whilst it initialises, and I for one would be much more comfortable with a regular power button !

I think in the entire time I have been flying drones the importance of being able to get in the air ultra quick has not once ever been a priority for me !

What do you guys think ?

I wonder how the camera horizon gets determined. I've watched quite a few videos where the reviewers have the thing pointing in all directions while it powers on.

I'm in the same boat - flat surface, power on, gimbal auto calibration dance equals reasonably accurate horizon. Done that since day #1.

All the calibrations were done in the factory.
Nothing is being calibrated at powerup.

Obviously it is.

Some users don't like the machine coming to life while being unfolded but that's no problem because DJI have an option in the settings to disable the power on at unfolding feature.
