I just received a replacement platinum from Amazon. It is supposed to be new. After charging the control unit and drone batteries, upgrading the firmware, and performing the imu and compass calibrations when I turned on the DJI Go 4, control unit, and drone, I received the following warnings: FWD Vision sensor error System Warning Check APP. After turning everything off I uninstalled the DJI Go 4 and reinstalled it. I restarted everything and received the same messages. I downloaded and installed the DJI Assistant 2, I did the calibration routine, and the warnings are gone with a successful test flight. My question is: Is this normal to require the calibration? the first Platinum I received did not require this and flew perfectly. The reason for return was shipping damage to the micro usb door, it fell off and was lost. I noticed when unpacking the replacement some of the protection sensor covers were missing and am concerned I received a refurbished not new drone. should I be concerned?

Personally I would feel the same way as you but I think the drone will be perfectly fine and as new. Its good you had to recalibrate as you did so now you know everything is working as intended!

Have a few flights and see how your AC performs and go from there.

Have fun and be safe

Thank you for the reply and putting me a bit at rest. Having said that my question perhaps got a bit cloudy.

I'll be more than happy to keep this replacement if the forward sensor calibration that I had to do is a normal occurrence for a new out of the box aircraft. If not a normal occurrence, since I am an amazon prime member paying the newly increased cost of membership one of the benefits is: I can return an item for refund or replacement if not satisfied with the purchase .
