How is this corrected in the DJI Fly app?

If that horizon tilt always occurs to the same degree can't you just manually adjust the gimbal?

For other AC that use the DJI Fly app you have the below possibility ... there you can adjust the gimbal horizontally & in yaw.

And there you will find these controls ...

Ok thanks for the reply. It's not happening all the time. I also get the gimbal roll when flying sideways. Haven't seen that since my Phantom. Having other issues as well.

Have seen similar intermittent gimbal roll angle problems especially from the M2 series before ... & if you doesn't have a consistent "out of the horizontal plane roll angle" ... it's mainly nothing you as a pilot can do besides address the problem to DJI & get it fixed that way.

Does anyone know what causes the gimbal to lose the natural horizon like this. Is it a bug or production defect of some kind?

I was hoping after all the time between the M2P and the M3 launch that these issues would have been ironed out by design and software enhancements over the last 3 years.

In my experience, whether with the Mavic Mini 2 or the Mavic 2 Pro, I frequently have to do a gimbal calibration. I think it is because I often have to interchange the ND filters and hard asd I may try, I think I am stressing something there.

I get a slight tilt quite often as well, with a Mini 2. What I do to fix it is face the drone directly into the wind. I use the Attitude Indicator to make sure it is hovering level. A little downward angle isn't a problem. Then I push the Function button to make the gimbal point straight down, wait a couple of seconds, and then push it again to make the gimbal point straight ahead. The horizon is then nice and level.
