Can you transfer files from SD card to Android with a card reader?

Due to my phone and iPad being traditionally family hand-me-downs I've been in the Apple ecosystem. One thing that I hate about Apple devices is getting data/files in an out. I know that Androids are as easy as hooking up to a computer and doing a drag-n-drop. I had a Samsung phone a few ago while living in Mexico and it was great for file transfer.

Another thread caused me to ask this question: If I create a recording on an SD card in my drone, can I transfer it to the Android with a card reader, assuming I have the proper adapter for USB-C or micro (whatever the Android is equipped with)? Or, do I need to hook the Android up to a computer to do the transfer?

Sure can, I bought this nifty little adapter to use with my Galaxy S7 and mediapad M3 tablet... works great, liked it so much I bought another.

I got a little adapter for mine, to use on the go, when my laptop isn't handy.

In general Yes - I believe Android device has to support Usb On The Go - USB On-The-Go - Wikipedia but most of them do nowdays
