Pilot's Perspective: This has to one of my favorite flights flown recently; I captured many elements of Yonkers and its surrounding areas. Though temperatures were hovering in the mid-90's and the sun was right over me, the winds were calm enough for me to fly comfortably; best of all, the visibility was great - you can really see a lot in the distance - let me know in the comments below if there is anything else I should have added in the following list. Cheers.

Special Thanks to @MARK (LI) for the last minute suggestion for flying in Yonkers

Notable Scenery (in the distance) -

- Manhattan Skyline
- Jersey City Skyline
- Hudson River
- Bronx
- Tappan Zee Bridge (connecting Westchester County to Rockland County)
- George Washington Bridge (connecting New York to New Jersey)
- If you look closely, the Throgs Neck and Whitestone Bridges
- Palisades Parkway (and the Palisades, a geologic feature which formed between 200 million - 250 million years ago)
- Yonkers Water Front and emerging housing projects
- Former Domino Sugar Factory
- Science Barge
- Kawasaki Plant (based on the car numbers, these R211 subways cars are actually destined for the Staten Island Railway, SIR)
- New York City Transit Bus Depot
- A number of Metro-North (originating from Poughkeepsie) and Amtrak (Northeast Regional) trains crossing each other

Fun Fact regarding the Palisades:
"Palisades ridgeline actually extends all the way south to Staten Island, spanning in total around 40 miles. A natural barrier between the Hudson and Hackensack rivers, once thought to have been a single waterway, they began forming 200-250 million years ago, when the Earth’s land mass was concentrated in a single supercontinent known as Pangaea.
