Is the use of Goggles with a Mini 3, Avada or any other drone a violation of VLOS without a VO? What about all these "Range Tests" I see on YouTube? After about 800-1000 ft. in good conditions my Mini's are hard to see. Not trying to start trouble, just curious.

Unless the pilot had watchers staged along the route AND in communication with the pilot, those YouTube videos are probably in violation of the VLOS rules.

I seem to remember reading that a few of them have had some form of contact with the FAA after those were posted. I could be wrong.

VLOS is impossible with goggles. If you are legally required to maintain VLOS during flight then you must have a VO.

Old issue. This has always been an issue for discussion with FPV pilots without a spotter.

In the US, this does not make BVLOS legal.
