I took Dexter (had to name it something) out for a early morning flight and immediately noticed weird camera shake and 'rebound' especially when changing forward speed. I was not even in sport mode. I went through the thread about the gimbal and jello but this is different. No jello and the tabs are in place. I also re calibrated the gimbal but this is still happening. It's almost like something is tapping the gimbal in flight.

I attached two clips from this morning. Last weekend I took video with no problems at all. I always store the mavic with gimbal lock and cover.

Any suggestions would be welcome as I am leaving on a trip in 10 days and don't want to RMA this.....

BTW - did the latest firmware between last weekend and now....

I would try to do a 10+ minute flight and see how many times it does it. If it only happens 1 or 2 times, just live with it until you get back from vaca.

Unfortunately it does it every time I accelerate or brake. I even did a test in tripod mode and it did it when going from hover to forward motion....

It's really weird and I have check the bands that the gimbal hangs from and they seem good. The gimbal is hanging loose but I think it always did....

Return it and buy a new one if you're within your 30 day period. I experienced the same with the first Mavic I had. I refused to send a brand new product in for repair and boxed everything back up, sent it back and ordered a new one. Taking this line will most likely have you flying sooner than if you sent it in for repair anyway.

what firmware are u on?

what firmware are u on?

v01.03.0550

I did the vision calibration using the DJI Assistant 2 but no help either.

It seems front is loose - as I notice it only does it when accelerating forward or stopping in reverse.

Cheers.

Maybe I am missing something - I see two square pads where something is supposed to be?

i had the same issue i read some threads about it here. i was recommended to upgrade my FW as i am on .0300 and if that is not fixing the issue then to take it back to DJI. your gimbal base looks ok to me i think u got the "gimbal twitching" issue and u shuld contact DJI.

I downgraded to v01.03.0500 today but the issue still exists. My 30 days are up tomorrow but they are closed. Hope they honor the return.

I'm starting to rethink this purchase....DJI customer service is terrible. The return period is 7 days.....I purchased it from them directly.

3 hours on hold ( I was called 26 when I called in) then the guy took my name and serial number of magic ,said he would put me hold to look something up and promptly disconnected me..!!!!!!

There is a knocking noise in both videos. Is that something you are doing? Also the gimbal looks like it has wear patches on each side.

All I was doing was accelerating forward but yes those marks look like rub marks but I don't know why.

I was testing lots of things yesterday and holding it by hand and recording. Just tipping the front forward causes the shake but tip side to side or up is fine. If I have the camera pointed 45 degrees down then it doesn't happen or doesn't happen as much.

I can't figure out why it is rubbing.....

I found the issue and will post photos tonight. We purchased a Mavic Pro for work today and I noticed the drone ribbon cable is 'away' from the pivot point where as mine has a twist and is rubbing against the pivot point. When pointing straight ahead it has tension which explains why I can get good video when pointing 45 degrees down and no crazy acceleration. I hate to send it away for 2 weeks and use a refresh just for a ribbon cable issue.

If I order the ribbon cable myself and repair will this void the warranty and any future refresh?

I have heard way too many horror stories about DJI refresh and their support in general. I don't want to send back my drone which apart from the gimbal is in perfect working order.
