I use my Crystalsky 7.85" with my Mini 2 via the Litchi app. which recognizes 32 bit devices. It does not work with the Fly app. because it is 64 bit. If you don't have Litchi then it is worth buying it so you can use the Crystalsky.

I am using a PGYTECH mount (see attachments). It bolts to the bottom of the CS and is firmly gripped by the remote. It can be adjusted over the remote to give a good balance. The whole set up is a bit heavy as you say but these days when I am flying I often sit in a folding chair.
